Eligibility Criteria for the A*STAR National Science Scholarship (PhD) 2026
Applicants must:
- Be Singaporean or other nationals intending to take up Singapore citizenship
- Non-Singaporeans must have obtained Singapore Permanent Resident (SPR) status before the commencement of studies and convert to Singapore citizenship during their PhD studies
- Have obtained a good class of Honours degree or equivalent in relevant disciplines
- Be in the final semester of undergraduate studies when applying (award will only be given after completion of the bachelor’s degree)
- Have applied or be applying to a PhD program at a top overseas institution
Mid-Term Applicants must:
- Be Singaporean
- Be enrolled at a top overseas institution
- Have completed at least one semester of the current PhD program
- Maintain excellent academic standing
- Demonstrate strong research potential or achievements
- Provide academic referees, including their current university supervisor
