  • Must be pursuing higher or postgraduate education at the applied level for the first time
  • Must submit a copy of a valid identity document (including refugee certificates where applicable)
  • Must provide a copy of the previous level of education document with transcript and notarized translation into Kazakh, Russian, or English
  • Must submit a motivational essay in Kazakh, Russian, or English
  • Must provide two letters of recommendation from an educational institution or employer, in Kazakh, Russian, or English
  • Must submit a medical certificate of health for study abroad, issued by the official health authority of the applicant’s place of residence
  • Must submit a medical certificate confirming the absence of HIV and AIDS
  • Must complete and submit the official questionnaire (downloadable from the official portal)
  • Invitation letter from a Kazakhstani NGO or UNRWA (if available — not compulsory)

Bachelor’s Degree Specific Requirements:

  • Must have a secondary education certificate with an average score of at least “Good” (exceptions apply for holders of refugee certificates)
  • Applicants without a certificate must submit a school grade certificate for the current period, with notarized translation

Master’s Degree Specific Requirements:

  • Must hold a Bachelor’s or specialist’s diploma with a minimum GPA of 3.0 out of 4.0 or its equivalent

  • German: DSH or TestDaF at B2 level
  • French: TFI (B2 in reading and listening) / DELF B2 / DALF B2 / TCF minimum 400 points
  • Chinese: HSK Level 4 or above

Note: A language certificate is not required if the applicant’s country of residence uses the language of instruction as an official language and the educational institution has been in operation for no more than five years
