The Mastercard Foundation EdTech Fellowship supports promising EdTech companies across Africa. The aim is simple. Help founders build strong, impactful, and scalable education solutions.

The program runs in partnership with innovation hubs and EdTech accelerators across the continent. Selected ventures get business support, financial resources, and training in learning science, so they can build products that truly help students and teachers.

The Fellowship focuses on collaboration, innovation, and long-term growth. It gives founders the chance to learn from experts, connect with important stakeholders, and prepare their solutions for real impact in their communities.

Mastercard Foundation EdTech Fellowship 2026 Eligibility Requirements

To apply, your organisation must meet the following:

  1. Your business must be registered in Ghana.
  2. You must have been operating for at least 3 years.
  3. You must offer a tech or tech-enabled solution that improves education in Ghana.
  4. Your product must be live with active users or customers.
  5. Your solution should be able to reach at least 8,000 learners.
  6. Your team should be diverse and committed to education.
  7. Your solution should support K–12, tertiary education, or vocational skills training.
  8. Startups, SMEs, and NGOs can apply.

The program uses a hybrid model. Most sessions are virtual, but team leads must attend monthly in-person workshops and any required physical events. Expect to commit about 20 to 25 hours each month.
