To apply for the McGill University 2025 Graduate Scholarship in Canada, you must:

Academic Requirements

• M.Sc. or M.Eng. Applicants:
  • Must hold a Bachelor’s degree equivalent to McGill’s degree in Electrical, Computer, or Software Engineering (or a closely related field)
  • Must have strong grades: a CGPA of 3.0 out of 4.0, or 3.2 out of 4.0 for the last two academic years
• Ph.D. Applicants:
  • Must meet the above M.Sc./M.Eng. requirements
  • Must also hold a Master’s degree in a relevant field
  • Must have a minimum CGPA of 3.0 out of 4.0

Note: Meeting the minimum academic criteria does not guarantee admission. Only a limited number of applicants are selected.

English Language Proficiency

You do not need to submit proof of English proficiency if:

• English is your first language
• You completed a degree from a recognized institution where English was the language of instruction
• You studied or worked for at least 4 years in an English-speaking country

If none of the above applies to you, you must submit one of the following:

• TOEFL iBT: Overall score of 100 (minimum 20 in each section)
• IELTS Academic or UKVI: Overall score of 7.0 (minimum 6.0 in each section)
• McGill Certificate of Proficiency: Minimum grade of A-

All scores must be sent electronically to McGill (Institutional Code: 0935).

GRE (Optional)

GRE scores are not required, but can be submitted if available.
