Eligibility Requirements for UCL Global Undergraduate Scholarship 2026

To be eligible for this scholarship, applicants must:

• Be eligible to pay the overseas tuition fee rate
• Be an international student from a low-income background.
• Have applied for a full-time undergraduate degree at UCL for the 2026/2027 academic session.
• Demonstrate financial need and the inability to fund their studies without the scholarship.
• Meet UCL’s academic entry requirements for their chosen program.

Note: For details on how UCL defines household income, please refer to their essential information page. While UCL generally considers a household income of £42,875 or less as “low income,” this serves as a guideline. Applicants with a household income exceeding this amount will still be considered for the scholarship.

1. If scholarship applicants wish to change their programme at any point, including after receiving confirmation of a successful scholarship application, they must notify the Student Funding Office (SFO) before making any changes to ensure their scholarship remains valid.
2. Additionally, scholarship recipients are required to promptly inform the SFO of any additional funding they receive for their undergraduate studies, whether before or after being awarded the scholarship.

How to Apply for UCL Global Undergraduate Scholarship 2026 (Step by Step)

To apply for the UCL Global Undergraduate Scholarship, follow these instructions for accessing the online scholarship application form:

1. Log in to Portico with your normal details.
2. Click on the ‘View’ button for the ‘Active Application’ for which you wish to apply for funding.
3. In the application screen, click on ‘Funding’ in the menu at the top of the page.
4. You are now on the funding page. To find out which funds you are eligible to apply for, click ‘Check and apply’ under ‘Funds Available’.
5. Click on the scholarship name of the scheme that you wish to apply for.

NB. For each programme that you wish to apply for funding, you will need to submit a separate scholarship application form.

• You must have submitted an admission application to UCL in order to apply for the scholarship.
• To be eligible, you don’t need an admission offer, but your fee status must be confirmed by UCL Admissions. If you can’t access the application form, it may be due to pending confirmation. Apply for admission well before the scholarship deadline. If you’re eligible but can’t access the form two weeks before the deadline, email the SFO for an alternative. Late or incomplete applications will not be considered.

Selection Process

1. The scholarship is awarded based on financial need. If you are shortlisted, you will be required to provide financial evidence, usually around mid-May 2026.
2. The UCL Student Funding Office is responsible for assessing and allocating awards. Successful candidates for 2026/27 entry will be notified before the UCAS offer reply deadline on 4 June 2026.
