To apply for the Killam Doctoral Scholarships, you must meet the following conditions:
- Citizenship: Open to Canadians, permanent residents, and international students.
- Program: Must be enrolled in or admitted to a PhD program at UBC.
- Study Duration:
- Applicants must have completed no more than 24 months of doctoral study as of September 1, 2026 (for the 2026–27 competition year).
- If you transferred directly from a master’s program to a PhD, eligibility will be counted from the date of transfer.
- Funding will not be available beyond the 48th month of doctoral study.
- Exclusion: Students who are eligible for the Canada Graduate Scholarships-Doctoral (CGS-D) are not eligible for the Killam Scholarship.
