University of Toronto Mastercard Foundation Scholarship 2026 Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must meet all the following criteria:
- Be a citizen of a Sub-Saharan African country and currently residing there.
- Have graduated, or be graduating, from a partner university in the Africa Health Collaborative.
- Must not have begun doctoral studies at the time of application.
- Demonstrate strong academic performance and leadership during undergraduate and master’s studies.
- Be admissible to the University of Toronto’s Doctor of Public Health (DrPH) program.

How to Apply for the University of Toronto Mastercard Foundation Scholarship 2026 (Step-by-Step)
Step 1: Review admission requirements for the Doctor of Public Health (DrPH) program at the University of Toronto. Ensure you meet all academic and program prerequisites.
Step 2: Register and attend one of the mandatory virtual information sessions (three available sessions; Q&A optional). Attendance at one info session is required for eligibility.
Step 3: Complete the Mastercard Foundation Doctoral Scholarship application form. The application link will be provided during the information sessions. Submit by October 10, 2025, at 11:59 p.m. EST.
Step 4: Wait for notification. Shortlisted candidates will be informed by November 1, 2025.
Step 5: If shortlisted, submit a formal application to the University of Toronto’s DrPH program by November 22, 2025. Follow the Dalla Lana School of Public Health’s instructions carefully for uploading supplementary materials.
