ARES International Training Scholarships in Belgium 2026-2027 | Fully Funded

The ARES International Training Scholarships 2026-2027 offer fully funded opportunities for students and professionals from 31 eligible countries to study in Belgium. Funded by the Wallonia-Brussels Federation, this scholarship covers travel expenses, living allowance, tuition, insurance, and additional costs. Successful applicants can pursue a Specialised Bachelor’s degree, Specialised Master’s degree, or Continuing Training Course at top Belgian institutions.

Applications open on August 4, 2025, and close on Friday, September 19, 2025, at 12:00 p.m. (Belgian time). All applications must be submitted online through the GIRAF platform — email submissions will not be accepted.

The ARES (Académie de Recherche et d’Enseignement Supérieur) scholarship is designed to help professionals from developing countries strengthen their skills through higher education in Belgium.

  • 1 Specialised Bachelor’s degree (for candidates with a 1st cycle diploma equivalent to 180 ECTS credits)

  • 6 Continuing Training Courses (short professional courses lasting 2 to 6 months)

Eligibility Requirements for the ARES International Training Scholarships 2026-2027

To apply for the ARES International Training Scholarships, you must:

  1. Nationality & Residence
    • Be a permanent resident and working in one of the 31 eligible countries.
    • Palestinian nationals can apply even if they do not live in one of these countries.
  2. Academic Background
    • For Specialised Master’s & Continuing Training: Have a degree equivalent to a Belgian 2nd cycle diploma (300 ECTS).
    • For Specialised Bachelor’s: Have a degree equivalent to a Belgian 1st cycle diploma (180 ECTS).
  3. Professional Experience
    • Have at least 2 years of relevant work experience in an ARES partner country.
  4. Eligible Countries
    • Africa: Benin, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cameroon, Ethiopia, Guinea, Kenya, Madagascar, Mali, Morocco, Mozambique, Niger, DR Congo, Rwanda, Senegal, South Africa, Tanzania, Tunisia, Uganda, Zimbabwe.
    • South America & Caribbean: Bolivia, Cuba, Ecuador, Haiti, Peru.
    • Southeast Asia: Cambodia, Indonesia, Nepal, Philippines, Vietnam.
    • Asia: Palestinian territory.
