Eligibility Criteria for the A*STAR National Science Scholarship (BS-PhD) 2026/2027
- Applicants must be Singaporean. Non-Singaporeans must obtain Singapore Permanent Residence before the start of studies and convert to Singapore citizenship during undergraduate studies.
- Applicants must have excellent academic results in GCE A-Levels, Polytechnic Diploma, International Baccalaureate, NUS High School Diploma, or equivalent qualifications.
- Applicants must be in the last semester of their final year of studies when applying.
- Applicants must have applied or be applying to a top overseas university in a relevant scientific field.
- Candidates should demonstrate a strong interest in science and research.
- Preference will be given to applicants with achievements in science or mathematics-related activities and projects.
- Male scholars must complete National Service before starting undergraduate studies.
- Applicants are encouraged to submit SAT scores if available.
Mid-Term Applicants must:
- Be Singaporean or a Singapore Permanent Resident who intends to become a Singapore citizen.
- Be currently enrolled in a top overseas university.
- Have completed at least one semester of graded results.
- Be on track for excellent academic performance.
- Demonstrate research potential or achievements.
- Provide two academic referees, with at least one being a tenured or tenure-track academic.
