- Gold Scholarship GPA above 3.5 $7,000
- Elite Scholarship GPA above 3.75 $9,000
2. Graduate Merit Scholarships
- Master’s Merit Scholarship GPA above 3.0 $5,000
- Doctoral Merit Scholarship GPA above 3.0 $9,000
These scholarships are renewable, provided that students meet the eligibility conditions every semester.

Eligibility Requirements for the East Tennessee State University International Merit Scholarships
To be eligible for the ETSU International Merit Scholarship, applicants must:
- Be admitted to ETSU as a degree-seeking international student
- Hold or plan to obtain a visa allowing full-time study
- Have a minimum GPA of 3.0 in their previous academic studies:
- Freshman: 3.0 GPA in high school
- Transfer students: 3.0 GPA in previous university coursework
- Graduate students: 3.0 GPA in undergraduate studies
You are NOT eligible if:
- You’re applying for a second bachelor’s degree after already earning one from ETSU
- You are paying in-state tuition or E-Rate tuition
- You are applying for M.D. or Pharm.D. programs
- You are already receiving another scholarship that covers international/out-of-state tuition (e.g., Fulbright, Graduate Assistantship, etc.)
