EUI Policy Leader Fellowship 2026/2027 | Fully Funded
The European University Institute (EUI) Policy Leader Fellowship 2026/2027 is a fully funded fellowship hosted at the EUI’s School of Transnational Governance in Florence, Italy. It is designed for mid-career professionals, policy experts, civil servants, journalists, activists, NGO leaders, and changemakers who are committed to improving governance and driving real impact in their countries and communities.
The fellowship offers a unique blend of policy training, leadership development, mentoring, and hands-on collaboration with global experts. It also provides a generous monthly stipend, travel reimbursement, and full access to world-class academic and policy resources at the EUI.
Fellows can choose between a 5-month or 10-month stay in Florence, starting September 2026. The program is immersive, highly practical, and intentionally designed to strengthen leadership and policy innovation.

EUI Policy Leader Fellowship 2026/2027 Details
The EUI Policy Leader Fellowship is one of Europe’s most respected mid-career leadership programs. Its mission is to equip policy innovators with the skills, networks, and global exposure needed to design solutions for complex governance challenges.
During the fellowship, participants work on a personal policy project while engaging in:

Eligibility Requirements for the EUI Policy Leader Fellowship 2026/2027
Applicants must:
- Be mid-career professionals with at least 7–10 years of relevant experience
- Demonstrate strong interest and contributions in public policy or governance
- Be able to take up residency in Florence for the full duration of the program
- Have a clearly defined policy project they wish to work on during the fellowship
- Show leadership potential, public engagement skills, and commitment to societal impact
- Be proficient in English (no formal test required, but strong communication skills expected)
This fellowship does not require a specific academic degree — experience and policy impact matter more.
