Forrest Research Foundation Fellowship 2026 Details
The Forrest Research Foundation Fellowship 2026 is a highly competitive, fully funded postdoctoral opportunity for outstanding researchers committed to tackling global challenges through original and impactful research.
Fellows will be based at one of five leading Western Australian universities: the University of Western Australia, Curtin University, Edith Cowan University, Murdoch University, or the University of Notre Dame Australia.
Each Fellow is matched with a host institution aligned with their research goals, where they will contribute to groundbreaking work in their field while building a vibrant community of innovation and knowledge.
This three-year fellowship supports research across all disciplines, from health and science to arts, engineering, and technology, encouraging interdisciplinary collaboration and bold thinking.
Forrest Fellows receive a one-time research and travel allowance of up to $12,000, a relocation fee, a monthly salary, economy airfares to Perth for fellows and their dependents and an accommodation supplement. The program lasts for 3 years on a full-time basis.

Forrest Research Foundation Fellowship 2026: Eligibility Requirements
To be eligible for the Forrest Research Foundation Fellowship 2026, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- You must have completed your PhD on or after January 1, 2023, or be to complete it before the fellowship begins in 2026.
- Fellows must reside at Forrest Hall in Perth, actively contributing to the scholarly and community life of the fellowship.
- Must have received and accepted an employment contract at a university in Western Australia.
- Must accept the Forrest Fellowship and begin employment at the relevant university within 12 months of receiving the Fellowship.
- Must commit to providing annual progress reports to the Forrest Research Foundation Director and the Minderoo Foundation.
