Harvard Radcliffe Institute 2026 Fellowship Eligibility Requirements
To be eligible, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Must have a significant body of independent research, writing, or creative work.
- Current master’s and PhD students are not eligible to apply.
- Former Harvard Radcliffe Fellows (1999–present) are not eligible.
Humanities and Social Sciences - Hold a doctorate or terminal degree (PhD, MD, JD) in the project’s field by December 2022.
- Have published a monograph or at least two refereed journal articles or book chapters.
Science, Engineering, and Mathematics - Hold a doctorate in the project’s field by December 2022.
- Must have published at least five articles in peer-reviewed journals.
Creative Arts: Eligibility depends on the specific discipline: - Film and Video: Must show a strong body of independent work exhibited in festivals, museums, or broadcast platforms.
- Visual Arts: At least 5 years of professional experience and a record of 2 solo exhibitions and curated group shows.
- Fiction/Nonfiction: Must have one or more published books, a book contract, or at least 3 published long-form works.
- Poetry: At least 20 poems or a book of poetry published in the past 5 years, and currently working on a manuscript.
- Journalism: At least 5 years of professional journalism experience.
- Playwriting: A strong portfolio including produced plays or those under option.
- Music Composition: A PhD or DMA is preferred but not required. Applicants must show a strong record of recent professional performances.
