Kings College London Sanctuary Scholarship 2026-2027 Details
The Sanctuary Scholarship provides financial and academic support for up to 11 students.
It covers Postgraduate Taught courses and King’s International Foundation Courses starting in September 2026. All eligible programmes must be in-person and one year long.
For 2026/27:
- Up to 4 King’s International Foundation scholarships are available for UK-based students.
- Up to 2 Postgraduate Taught scholarships are available for UK-based students.
- Up to 5 Postgraduate Taught scholarships are available for students currently displaced overseas.
One scholarship is reserved in memory of Dr Maisara Alrayyes.
Eligible courses:
- Overseas applicants: Postgraduate Taught (PGT) programmes only.
- UK-based applicants: Postgraduate Taught (PGT) programmes and King’s International Foundation courses.
Online courses and jointly offered postgraduate programmes are not eligible. Courses with compulsory work placements may not be suitable if a student’s immigration status does not permit employment.
Applications closes on Tuesday 5 May 2026 at 10:00 AM (UK time). Late applications will not be considered.

Eligibility Requirements for the Kings College London Sanctuary Scholarship 2026-2027
Applicants must:
- Be an asylum seeker or have limited leave to remain in the UK due to an asylum claim, or be at immediate risk from or displaced by existing or recent conflicts
- Have applied to an in-person, one-year programme at King’s starting in September 2026
For Overseas Applicants:
- Have applied to a one-year Postgraduate Taught course for 2026 entry
- Not hold a postgraduate degree from the UK or abroad
- Ensure the chosen course does not require work eligibility if immigration status prohibits employment
For UK-Based Applicants:
- Have applied to a one-year Postgraduate Taught course or King’s International Foundation course for 2026 entry
- Be unable to access Tuition Fee or Maintenance Loans from Student Finance England, Wales, Northern Ireland, or SAAS
- Not hold a postgraduate degree from the UK or abroad
- Ensure the chosen course does not require work eligibility if immigration status prohibits employment

Kings College London Sanctuary Scholarship 2026-2027 Benefits
Recipients will receive:
