The programme offers fully or partially funded scholarships for postgraduate study (Honours or Master’s) in another African country, allowing recipients to be immersed in a new culture while gaining high-quality education.
Unlike most scholarships, this programme emphasizes Pan-Africanism, encouraging Africans to learn, lead, and connect across borders. Scholars also take part in tailored leadership development activities designed to help them become agents of change on the continent.
The scholarship supports full-time studies in any field of choice, as long as the applicant has gained admission into one of the MINDS Preferred Institutions outside their home country.

MINDS Scholarship Program 2025 Eligibility Requirements
To be eligible for the MINDS Scholarship, applicants must:
- Be a citizen of an African country and reside in any African country
- Have been accepted or already have formal admission to a MINDS preferred institution outside of their home country
- Be applying for postgraduate studies (Honours or Master’s) starting in the next academic year
- Have achieved at least 70% in each subject/course in the last two academic years
- Show leadership ability or potential through experiences or roles they’ve held
- Complete and submit the online application form along with all supporting documents
Note: You cannot apply to study in your country of residence or citizenship.
