NWAG Scholarship Program 2025 Details
The Nigerian Women Association of Georgia (NWAG) is committed to empowering female undergraduates in Nigerian universities through its annual scholarship program. The 2025 edition aims to provide financial assistance to outstanding students who demonstrate academic excellence and financial need.
This year, a total of 111 one-time scholarships will be awarded, with three recipients selected from each of the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). Each selected student will receive a one-time scholarship award of $300. Additionally, the first runner-up from each state will receive a consolation prize of $150 while the second runner-up in each state will receive a consolation prize of $100.
By offering this scholarship, NWAG continues its mission of empowering Nigerian women through education, ensuring they have the resources to complete their university studies successfully.
Eligibility Requirements for NWAG Scholarship Program 2025
To be eligible for the NWAG Scholarship Program 2025, applicants must:
- Be female undergraduate students enrolled in Nigerian universities.
- Be an indigene of Nigeria, with proof of state of origin.
- Have excellent academic records.
- Demonstrate financial need.

Required Documents for Scholarship
Applicants are required to submit the following documents:
- Proof of State of Origin: Letter of origin from the university or a letter from the local government office.
- Two Letters of Recommendation: From any two of the following:
- Church Pastor/Mosque Imam
- Village Head
- Local Government Chairperson
- University Lecturer or Head of the Department
- One Letter of Recommendation: From either the Dean of your Faculty or the School Head of your Department
- Photocopy of Current University Student Identification Card.
- A Recent Passport Photograph.
- Explain why you need and should receive the scholarship (Not more than one-half typed page).
- A typewritten, double-spaced, two-page essay on:
βAnalyze how technology can be leveraged to address gender-based violence (GBV) in Nigeria, including facilitating reporting, access to services, and creating safe spaces for survivors. Evaluate current interventions and propose innovative solutions for ensuring timely and effective assistance for GBV survivors.β
