University of Malta Scholarships 2025/2026 Details
The University of Malta (UM), the country’s leading higher education institution with a history spanning over 400 years, offers a dynamic and research-driven environment in the heart of the Mediterranean. Strategically located between Europe, North Africa, and the Middle East, UM provides high-quality education across the sciences, humanities, and professional disciplines, supporting Malta’s development and fostering global connections.
The University of Malta (UM) welcomes high-achieving students from non-EU/EEA countries to pursue postgraduate studies in a research-focused environment. The tuition fee waiver ranges from 40% to 100% based on a merit-based assessment that considers your academic track record, research proposal, motivation, and personal circumstances.
The fee waiver applies for the official duration of the programme. If you need more time to complete your studies, the extension period may not be covered.
You must first be accepted unconditionally into a Master’s by Research or Ph.D. programme before you can apply for this scholarship. MBA-style programmes and professional doctorates are not eligible.
You may apply whether you are studying full-time or part-time. However, students who have already started their programme at UM cannot apply.
