ZUEL Freshman Scholarship 2026 Details

The Study in ZUEL Freshman Scholarship is a scholarship set up by Zhongnan University of Economics and Law to support international students in their first year of study in China.

The scholarship is available for undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral degree programs. Programs can be taught in either Chinese or English, depending on the major.

The length of study depends on the program. Undergraduate programs last four years. Master’s programs last two to three years. Doctoral programs last four years. However, the Freshman Scholarship only supports students during their first academic year.

The scholarship has different types, including Type B and Type C. These types may cover registration and tuition, accommodation, living allowance, and medical insurance, depending on the specific type.

From the second year, students can apply for the Study in ZUEL Current Students Scholarship based on their academic performance and overall performance at the university.

Eligibility Requirements for the ZUEL Freshman Scholarship 2026

  • Applicants must not be Chinese citizens and must hold a valid foreign passport
  • Applicants must be in good character, friendly to China, and have no criminal record
  • Bachelor’s applicants must have a CSCA transcript and excellent high school performance
  • For Chinese-taught programs, applicants must have HSK Level 5 or above
  • For English-taught programs, applicants must have IELTS 6 or above, or TOEFL 80 or above, or proof that their previous degree was taught in English
  • Graduate applicants must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 in their previous studies
  • Graduate applicants for Chinese-taught programs must have HSK Level 5 or above
  • Graduate applicants for English-taught programs must have IELTS 6 or above, or TOEFL 80 or above, or a previous degree taught in English
  • Applicants must not be holding any other scholarship
