Royal Thai Government Scholarships 2026 Details
The Royal Thai Government Scholarships are administered by the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT). They are available for both master’s and doctoral programs.
For doctoral studies, the His Majesty the King’s Scholarships are offered to students with excellent academic records at both bachelor’s and master’s levels. Eligible students can apply to any academic program under the Faculty of Infrastructure, Faculty of Technology, Faculty of Resource, Faculty of Climate Change, and Faculty of Public Policy. The PhD program runs for 41 months (7 semesters).
For master’s studies, there are three scholarship categories:
His Majesty the King’s Scholarships for Master’s Programs are available for students pursuing their first master’s degree in programs under the Faculty of Infrastructure, Faculty of Technology, and Faculty of Business Management.
Her Majesty the Queen’s Scholarships for Master’s Programs are available for students pursuing their first master’s degree in programs under the Faculty of Resource, Faculty of Climate Change, and Faculty of Public Policy.
Loom Nam Khong Pijai (GMS Scholarships) are awarded in honour of HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn. These are for students from the Greater Mekong Subregion and are focused on four thematic areas:
- Infrastructure Development
- Energy Technology
- Oil, Gas, and Natural Resources Development
- Environmental Engineering and Management
The master’s program duration is 22 months.

Eligibility Requirements for the Royal Thai Government Scholarships 2026
- Must have an outstanding academic record
- For PhD: GPA of Bachelor’s and Master’s degree ≥ 3.5 or equivalent
- For Master’s: GPA of Bachelor’s degree ≥ 3.5 or equivalent
- Degree must be from an accredited institution in related fields
- Must provide two recommendation letters (PhD)
- Must submit a research proposal (PhD)
- Must meet AIT English proficiency requirement: IELTS 6.0 (overall and writing bands) or AIT EET ≥ 6.0
