The United Nations 2025 Fully Funded Fellowship is a global fellowship programme, held once every year at the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) in Geneva, Switzerland. This fellowship is designed for individuals of African descent from the diaspora who are actively working to advance human rights and social justice within their communities.
The United Nations fellowship programme offers a unique opportunity for participants to deepen their understanding of international human rights law and the UN human rights system, learn about the global framework to combat racism, racial discrimination, xenophobia, and related intolerance.
This initiative was first launched in 2011 by the OHCHR Anti-Racial Discrimination Section and has grown into a key part of the UN’s efforts to support the International Decade for People of African Descent. The 2025 Fellowship will be the first of the Second Decade (2025–2034), as declared by the UN General Assembly.
Each participant will receive a return economy ticket to Geneva, basic health insurance, and a stipend for accommodation and living expenses during the program.
