At the University of York, there are four scholarships available for the 2026/2027 academic year. These are open to students from China, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Kenya.
Each scholarship is worth £10,000 and goes directly toward reducing your tuition fees. The number of scholarships for each country is limited; each country will have one.

To be eligible for the University of York GREAT Scholarship 2026, you must:
- Be a citizen and resident of one of the eligible countries: China (mainland only), Greece, Indonesia, Malaysia, Nigeria, Thailand, or Vietnam
- Have a conditional or unconditional offer to study a one-year postgraduate taught programme at the University of York by 11 May 2026
- Be paying fees at the overseas rate, with any fee status assessment completed by 11 May 2026
- Have met any English language conditions of your offer by 11 May 2026
Ineligible Applicants
You are not eligible if you:
- Already hold a 100% tuition fee scholarship or are fully sponsored
- Are a current University of York student who began studies in a previous year
- Are enrolled in:
- Hull York Medical School
- International Pathway College
- Distance/online learning courses
- Part-time courses
- Kaplan International College London
- MA Public Policy (Mundus MAPP)
- CASPPER
- Masters courses lasting longer than one year
- Partnership and exchange students (including visiting students)
