British Council Women in STEM Scholarships 2026-2027 Details
The British Council Women in STEM Scholarships aim to increase women’s participation in science and innovation. The program provides funding for one-year master’s degree courses at top UK universities and research institutions. It focuses on improving access to education for women from socioeconomically disadvantaged backgrounds.
Explore the Top UK Scholarships for International Students
The scholarship has been running for six consecutive years and has supported about 500 scholars from different countries. For the 2026–2027 academic year, up to 90 scholarships are available across 30 countries and territories.
Applicants can apply to more than one university. However, each application must be submitted separately. All applications are made directly to participating UK universities. After submission, applicants will receive updates from the universities.

Eligibility Requirements for the British Council Women in STEM Scholarships 2026-2027
- Must be a woman under UK legal definition
- Must be a citizen or permanent resident of an eligible country
- Must hold a valid passport or travel document
- Must meet UK visa requirements
- Must agree to return home for at least two years after study
