Danish Government Scholarship 2026 Details

The SDU Danish Government Scholarship is offered by the University of Southern Denmark to highly qualified students from outside the EU and EEA.

The scholarship is available only for specific programmes and campuses, which are:

Master’s programmes in Sønderborg:

• MSc in Engineering – Electronics/Electrical Engineering
• MSc in Engineering – Mechanical Engineering
• MSc in Engineering – Mechatronics

Bachelor’s programmes in Vejle:

• BSc in Artificial Intelligence
• BSc in Computer Science
• BSc in Interactive Technology Engineering
• BSc in Software Engineering

This scholarship is given as a tuition fee waiver only.

Students who are eligible to receive the Danish State Grant are not allowed to receive this scholarship.

Eligibility Requirements for the 2026 SDU Danish Government Scholarship

To be eligible for the SDU Danish Government Scholarship, you must meet the following:

• You must be a non-EU/EEA citizen
• You must apply for one of the approved SDU programmes listed above
• You must not be eligible for the Danish State Grant

For Bachelor’s Applicants

• You must apply before March 15
• You must take the SDU online admission test called uniTEST
• You must be ready to attend an online interview if shortlisted
• Applicants from the following countries are given priority:
  USA, Great Britain, Japan, Singapore, Australia, Canada, India, Brazil, Malaysia, Montenegro, Serbia, North Macedonia, Albania, Ukraine, and Moldova

For Master’s Applicants

• You must apply before February 1
• Your application must be complete at the time of submission
• The master’s programme must be your first choice if you applied for more than one
• Priority is also given to students from:
  USA, Great Britain, Japan, Singapore, Australia, Canada, India, Brazil, Malaysia, Montenegro, Serbia, North Macedonia, Albania, Ukraine, and Moldova

Danish Government Scholarship 2026 Benefits

The scholarship provides:

• Full tuition fee waiver for selected students
• Covers 2 years for Master’s programmes
• Covers 3 years for Bachelor’s programmes

The scholarship covers only 30 ECTS credits per semester. If you register for more than 30 ECTS, the extra courses will not be covered.

To keep the scholarship, you must pass at least 20 out of 30 ECTS credits every semester. If you fail to meet this requirement, the scholarship can be withdrawn.

SDU Danish Government Scholarship 2026 Required Documents

For Bachelor’s Applicants:

• Academic certificates or transcripts
• Valid passport
• Any required admission documents through the SDU online application system

For Master’s Applicants:

• Application deposit fee receipt
• Official Bachelor’s transcripts and diploma in English, Danish, Swedish or Norwegian
• Course descriptions for all listed courses
• Self-assessment form for Electronics and Mechatronics applicants
• Proof of English language proficiency

All documents must be uploaded online during the application. Documents sent by email are not accepted.
