Eligibility Requirements for the 2026 African Leadership University Mastercard Scholarship
To be eligible for the Scholarship, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Be a citizen of an African country
- Be a young African student with strong academic ability and leadership potential
- Demonstrate financial need and face social or economic barriers to higher education
- Have completed or be completing secondary school and meet ALU’s undergraduate admission requirements
- Show a clear commitment to community service, leadership, and positive social impact
- Be willing to study at African Leadership University in Rwanda or Mauritius
- Meet the English language requirements of African Leadership University
NOTE: The African Leadership University Mastercard Scholarship 2026 is primarily targeted at undergraduate students. While ALU also offers selected postgraduate programmes, funding under the Mastercard Foundation for postgraduate study is announced separately when available.
