Eligibility Requirements for the Canada ASEAN SEED-2 Scholarships 2026
To be eligible for the Canada ASEAN SEED-2 Scholarship, applicants must meet the following conditions:
- Must be citizens of eligible ASEAN countries, Pacific Island countries, or Mongolia
- Must be enrolled full-time at a post-secondary institution in their home country
- Must be paying tuition fees at their home institution during the exchange period
- Must not hold Canadian citizenship or permanent residency
- Must not currently be enrolled in a degree program at a Canadian institution
- Must not be participating in another scholarship funded by the Government of Canada
- Must not have previously received the Canada-ASEAN SEED scholarship (Phase 1)
Canadian host institutions must:
- Be a Designated Learning Institution (DLI)
- Waive tuition fees for scholarship recipients
- Submit applications through their international office

Canada ASEAN SEED-2 Scholarships 2026 Benefits
Selected candidates for the SEED-2 Scholarship Program will receive financial support depending on the study duration:
- $10,200 for 4-month study or research exchange
- $15,900 for 8-month undergraduate exchange
- $12,700 for 5–6 month graduate exchange
Scholarship funds may cover:
- Visa or study permit fees
- Round-trip airfare
- Health insurance
- Accommodation and living expenses
- Local transportation
- Books and academic supplies
Additionally, Canadian institutions receive $500 administrative support per student.
Required Documents for the Canada ASEAN SEED-2 Scholarships 2026
Applicants must submit the following documents through their Canadian host institution:
- Copy of passport or national identity card
- Signed privacy notice statement
- Letter of intent explaining research or study plans
- Proof of full-time enrollment from the home institution
- Letter of support from the home institution
- Letter of invitation from a Canadian supervisor (graduate students only)
- Ranking of applications submitted by the Canadian institution
