The Sanctuary Scholarships at the University of Glasgow are designed to support refugees and asylum seekers who face financial hardship and legal restrictions when accessing higher education in the UK. - Hold a firm conditional or unconditional offer for full-time study at the University of Glasgow for 2025/2026
- Have submitted a claim for asylum in the UK OR are actively appealing a negative decision on the claim for asylum in the UK OR have been granted Refugee Status, Humanitarian Protection (HP), or Discretionary Leave (DL) by the Home Office as a result of an asylum claim.

Benefits of University of Glasgow Sanctuary Scholarships 2025
The Sanctuary Scholarship provides financial and accommodation support to eligible students. The benefits include:
- Full tuition fee waiver for the duration of study (for students not eligible for mainstream student finance).
- £5,000 per year towards study costs.
- University of Glasgow accommodation for the duration of study (available only to those with no access to public funds).
Note:
- Undergraduate students with refugee status (or equivalent) and access to funding, are eligible to apply for the scholarship and would receive the £5,000 stipend towards study costs only, if successful.
- Postgraduate Taught Masters students with refugee status (or equivalent) and access to funding, are eligible to apply for the scholarship and would receive the £5,000 stipend towards study costs and a partial tuition fee waiver, to cover any shortfall not met by your Postgraduate Masters tuition fee loan.
