About the Sanctuary Scholarship
Glasgow created the Sanctuary Scholarship for people with refugee or asylum seeker status living in the UK who hold a university offer but can’t access mainstream student funding because of their immigration status. What the Scholarship Covers
The award pays your full tuition fee where you’re not eligible for mainstream funding through Student Finance or the Student Awards Agency Scotland, plus £5,000 a year toward study costs. Coverage differs by level: undergraduate students who already have access to funding receive only the £5,000 stipend, while postgraduate taught master’s students with existing funding access receive the £5,000 stipend plus a partial tuition waiver covering any gap left by their postgraduate loan.
