Einstein Fellowship 2026 in Germany Details
The 2026 Einstein Fellowship is a fully funded opportunity by the Einstein Forum and the Wittenstein Foundation for exceptional young thinkers who want to pursue an independent, interdisciplinary project outside their current area of expertise, much like Albert Einstein, whose legacy this program honours.
This prestigious fellowship is open to applicants under 35 with a university degree in any of the approved study fields. Applicants are required to present a strong, original project proposal that demonstrates intellectual boldness and cross-disciplinary curiosity.
Fellows will spend five to six months living in the garden cottage of Einstein’s summerhouse in Caputh, Brandenburg, a short distance from Berlin and Potsdam, where they’ll work on their project. This fellowship includes accommodation, a €10,000 stipend, and full travel reimbursement.
The purpose of this program is not to support ongoing dissertation work but to encourage innovative thinking beyond traditional academic boundaries.
