The Tomorrow Leaders Scholarship Program 2026, sponsored by the U.S. Department of State’s Middle East Partnership Initiative (MEPI), was created to empower talented students from the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region who want to pursue higher education but lack the financial means to access an American-style education. Each year, the program admits both undergraduate and graduate students, ensuring representation across the region’s cultural, religious, and geographic diversity.

Students selected for the program are placed in top U.S.-accredited universities in the MENA region.

• American University in Cairo (AUC) – Egypt
• American University of Beirut (AUB) – Lebanon
• Lebanese American University (LAU) – Lebanon.

They benefit from rigorous academic training combined with leadership development, civic engagement, mentoring, cultural exchange, internships, and community service activities designed to prepare them for leadership roles in their societies.

The scholarship is fully funded, covering tuition, academic fees, housing, health insurance, books, a laptop, monthly stipend, visa and residency fees, and two round-trip airfare tickets per year. In addition, fellows participate in workshops, leadership conferences, and professional mentoring opportunities that expand their networks and career prospects.

Eligibility Requirements for the Tomorrow Leaders Scholarship Program 2026

To be considered for the Tomorrow Leaders Scholarship Program, applicants must:

• Be citizens of one of the following MENA region countries: Algeria, Bahrain, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Syria, Tunisia, West Bank/Gaza, or Yemen.
• Not be U.S. citizens or U.S. legal permanent residents.
• Be current high school seniors or have graduated in 2025.
• Demonstrate strong academic performance, generally with an 80% or better across their academic history.
• Be able to travel and start their undergraduate program in August 2026.
• Demonstrate financial need, being from a socioeconomically underserved background.
