UTokyo Amgen Scholars Program 2026 Details
The UTokyo Amgen Scholars Program is an eight-week summer research program for undergraduate students. It is part of the global Amgen Scholars initiative, which operates across leading institutions worldwide.
At UTokyo, students will carry out full-time research in laboratories within various Graduate Schools and Institutes. By the end of the program, participants are expected to gain practical research skills and experience in basic and translational sciences.

Eligibility Requirements for the UTokyo Amgen Scholars Program 2026
- Must be an undergraduate student at a university in the Asia region
- Must have completed at least the first year of undergraduate study
- Must not graduate before the program begins
- Must return to undergraduate study for at least one semester or quarter after the program
- Must have strong academic performance
- Must have good working knowledge of English

Required Documents for the UTokyo Amgen Scholars Program 2026
- Portrait photograph. Your full face should be visible in the photo, taken from the front with your eyes open. (Same rules as passport photos, 45 x 35mm). This photo should not be a “selfie”, as it will be used as your profile photo if your application is successful.
- Personal identification. Scan the ID page of your passport or travel document issued by the government. Alternatively, a valid student ID or a national ID can be accepted.
- Official academic transcript. Obtain an official academic transcript in English and scan all pages including back pages and notations.
- Proof of English language proficiency (if required). English proficiency test scores must be within the validity period set by each test. TOEFL ITP is not accepted as a proficiency test score
- Latest CV, elaborate in-depth descriptions of any work experience, responsibilities or projects relevant to your field of study. (Max. 500 words)
- Two letters of recommendation, submitted through TAO, by two recommenders.
