The DAAD In-Country/In-Region Scholarship Programme 2026 at the West Africa Centre for Crop Improvement (WACCI), University of Ghana, offers up to 10 scholarships—three (3) In-Country and seven (7) In-Region for a Master of Philosophy (MPhil) in Seed Science and Technology. This scholarship supports students pursuing a research-based master’s program aimed at building professional capacity in agriculture, crop science, and related fields.

2026 DAAD Scholarship at University of Ghana Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must meet the following conditions:
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree (minimum Second Class Upper or equivalent) in a relevant field.
- Be a citizen or permanent resident of a Sub-Saharan African country.
- Have completed their last university degree within the last 6 years.
- Demonstrate strong academic performance, motivation, and research interest.
- Show proficiency in the language of instruction (English).
- Be either:
- a current university staff member,
- a potential academic/research recruit,
- a public sector employee, or
- a qualified graduate aspiring to build a research or teaching career.
Note: Female applicants, refugees, and candidates from disadvantaged regions are especially encouraged to apply.

Applicants must upload all the following documents to the DAAD Portal (in PDF format, English or German only):
- Completed the DAAD online application form
- Curriculum Vitae (CV) in tabular form

2026 DAAD Scholarship at University of Ghana Step-by-Step Application Process
Step 1: Apply Online via DAAD Portal
Visit the official DAAD portal to register. Register, log in, and carefully complete your online application. Upload all required documents before the deadline (27 November 2025).
Step 2: Apply for Admission at WACCI
In addition to the DAAD application, you must also apply directly to the West Africa Centre for Crop Improvement (WACCI) for admission to the MPhil in Seed Science and Technology program.
Step 3: Selection Process
After submission, DAAD and WACCI will jointly review all eligible applications. Shortlisted candidates may be contacted for further evaluation. Final results are typically announced within six months of the closing date.
