Pan African University Scholarship 2026/2027 Details

The Pan African University (PAU) is a top continental university network built by the African Union. Its goal is simple. To train smart, driven Africans who want to use their skills and ideas to build a stronger and more united Africa.

Since 2014, PAU has awarded more than two thousand five hundred certificates to students from fifty African countries. These scholars go on to lead in academics, government, industry and innovation.

For the 2026 to 2027 academic year, PAU is inviting young and talented applicants to apply for fully funded master’s and PhD programs in any of its four institutes across the continent.

If you are passionate, ready to learn, and want to play a meaningful role in Africa’s growth, this scholarship is for you.

Pan African University Scholarship 2026/2027 Eligibility Requirements

For Master’s Programmes

Applicants must:

  • Not be older than 25 years for men and 28 years for women
  • Hold a recognised undergraduate degree with at least a second class upper
  • Provide certified copies of academic certificates and transcripts
  • Provide a passport or national ID
  • Upload a clear passport photo
  • Present a detailed CV
  • Submit one recommendation letter from a former lecturer
  • Provide the names and contact details of 3 university lecturers as referees
  • Be ready for a written or oral exam if required

For the Master’s in Conference Interpreting and Translation, applicants must also have strong knowledge of at least two official African Union languages such as Arabic, English, French, Portuguese, Kiswahili or Spanish.

For Doctoral (PhD) Programmes

Applicants must:

  • Be a maximum of 28 years old for men and 30 years old for women
  • Hold a master’s degree in a relevant field from PAU or another recognised university
  • Provide certified copies of certificates and transcripts
  • Provide a passport or national ID
  • Upload a clear passport photo
  • Present a detailed CV
  • Submit two recommendation letters from professors
  • Submit a 3 to 4 page research concept note
  • Provide names and contact details of 3 university lecturers as referees

All successful candidates will receive a full scholarship from the African Union Commission.
