Eligibility Requirements for the PTDF Overseas Scholarship Scheme 2026
To be eligible, applicants must:
General Requirements:
- Be a Nigerian citizen
- The course of study must be relevant to the oil and gas industry
- Completed NYSC (National Youth Service Corps)
- Computer literate
- Possess at least five O-Level credits, including English Language and Mathematics
- Have a verified National Identity Number (NIN) before application
For MSc Applicants:
- Minimum of Second Class Upper (2.1) in first degree
- OR Second Class Lower (2.2) with relevant industry experience
- Submit a Statement of Purpose (max 500 words) explaining study relevance and contribution to national development
For PhD Applicants:
- Minimum of Second Class Lower (2.2) in first degree and a relevant postgraduate degree
- Submit a research proposal (max five pages) covering the topic, objectives, methodology, and data collection approach
- For the PTDF/DAAD Germany option, applicants must secure a research supervisor before final interviews
