ASR Africa International Professional Development Program (IPDP) Details
The ASR Africa International Professional Development Program (IPDP) is a three-month professional development program created to provide young Africans with structured workplace experience in the development sector. Participants are placed at the ASR Africa office in Abuja, where they engage in day-to-day organizational activities under close supervision.
Online Application for the February to May 2026 Edition will commence from 30th January to 4th February, 2026. Only 4 shortlisted applicants will be contacted for the program. The program combines learning objectives with practical assignments. Participants rotate across relevant units and are exposed to areas such as project planning, sustainability practices, monitoring and evaluation, gender considerations, and development programming. Learning is continuous and performance-based, with participants expected to complete weekly tasks and presentations.
As part of the program structure, participants are required to identify a grant opportunity and prepare a grant application by the end of the program. This process helps participants understand funding mechanisms and proposal development within the development sector.

Eligibility Requirements for the ASR Africa International Professional Development Program (IPDP)
To be eligible for the ASR Africa IPDP 2026:
- Be a young African, including students, recent graduates, or early-career professionals.
- Must be available full-time for the 3-month duration of the program.
- Must have a strong interest in social development and professional growth.
- Must secure accommodation in Abuja for the period (housing is not provided).
- Must demonstrate commitment and dedication (poor performers may be dropped).
- Be able to identify a grant application and apply for it at the end of the program.
- Must prepare and submit an “Expectation Analysis” showing how the program aligns with future goals.
