The Procope Programme is a bilateral research cooperation programme that has supported collaboration between French and German researchers since 1986.

The programme is known as:

  • Procope PPP (Projektbezogener Personenaustausch) in Germany
  • Procope PHC (Partenariat Hubert Curien) in France

The aim of the programme is to develop scientific and technological cooperation between French and German research laboratories. It gives priority to new research partnerships and to the active participation of young researchers, especially doctoral and postdoctoral researchers. Selected projects will run for two years. During this period, researchers from France and Germany will participate in repeated short-term exchange visits between the two countries.

The maximum duration of mobility is:

  • Up to 30 days for the French team travelling to Germany
  • Up to 50 days for the German team travelling to France

The programme only funds travel and living expenses related to mobility. Any other research costs must be covered by the participating laboratories or other funding sources.

To apply for the Procope Programme 2026, applicants must meet the following requirements:
