Urban Studies Foundation 2025 International Fellowships Details
The USF International Fellowship supports early-career researchers from the Global South in transforming their completed research into publishable academic outputs such as journal articles, book chapters, or full-length books. Each fellowship offers a fully funded visiting sabbatical ranging from three to nine months at a host university selected by the applicant. During this time, Fellows work under the mentorship of a senior scholar in their field to finalise their research into high-quality publications that make a significant contribution to global urban studies.
The fellowship provides comprehensive financial support, including coverage for accommodation and basic living expenses during the Fellow’s stay, a return airfare to the host country, and additional assistance with research-related costs. Beyond funding, the program facilitates access to an enriching academic environment, professional networks, and long-term collaboration opportunities.
Fellows are expected to be fully released from other professional obligations, allowing them to fully immerse themselves in the writing process and engage deeply with their host institution’s research community.
