The University of Westminster Great Start Scholarship is designed to support Home students with financial needs during their undergraduate studies.
The scholarship offers £2,000 per year, which can be used toward maintenance costs or tuition fees. It is awarded for up to three years, or four years for programs that include a foundation year. Selection is based on financial need and the strength of the personal statement. The scholarship also encourages applications from students with disabilities and mature students aged 21 and above.

Undergraduate scholarships are payable for a maximum of three years, or four years for degrees that include a foundation year. This will be paid in January each academic year via BACS into a student’s chosen bank account or paid directly to the University in November of each year if the student chooses the scholarship to go towards tuition fee costs. Students must remain eligible to receive the scholarship during each subsequent academic year and meet all yearly requirements for progression.
The scholarship will not be paid during repeat academic years, suspended periods, during a placement year or study abroad year. If you experience serious academic difficulties (e.g. failing a module, filing mitigating circumstances, suspension, etc.), you must inform the Scholarships Office immediately. Scholars who do not progress to the next academic level will have their scholarship placed on hold for one year, allowing them to complete modules and progress in their studies. This will only be available once during your degree.
