Borel Global Fellows Program 2027 at Iowa State, USA | How to Apply
The Borel Global Fellows Program is a graduate funding programme at Iowa State University (ISU) in the USA for students who are committed to improving food security and agricultural development in Sub-Saharan Africa. It was started in 2018 through a gift from ISU alumni Jim and Marcia Borel, and it supports MS and PhD students in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences. The goal is to train scientists who will go back and live and work in Sub-Saharan Africa as knowledge leaders.
This is not a normal scholarship where you apply on your own. You must already be admitted into a graduate programme in the college, and your major professor is the one who sends the application for you. The funding is up to $25,000 per year, but it is partial funding, and your professor must cover the rest. Applications are due on 15 January each year, so read the sections below to see what you and your professor each need to do.
