Who Can Apply for the BOC Sciences Chemistry Scholarship
You can apply if you are:
- Enrolled as an undergraduate, graduate or PhD student
- A full-time student at an accredited university
- Majoring in chemistry, biochemistry, chemical engineering, chemical technology or another chemistry-related science
- Showing high academic achievement in chemistry or science, with a cumulative average of B (3.0 GPA)
Majors that are accepted include chemistry, biochemistry, chemical engineering, chemical technology, materials science, pharmaceutical chemistry, chemistry-based environmental science or engineering, and chemistry-based biomedical engineering. Healthcare and nursing are not eligible majors.
You must have a declared field of study, or proof of admission, by the deadline. If you cannot show either, you are advised to wait for the next scholarship programme. Employees of BOC Sciences and their relatives cannot apply, and you can apply only once per calendar year.
If you study in Nigeria, your grade is probably on a 5.0 scale, so convert your CGPA to the 4.0 scale and check that it equals a B (3.0).

BOC Sciences Chemistry Scholarship: Documents You Need
- Completed official scholarship application form (Excel file from the BOC Sciences website)
- Letter of recommendation from a teacher, school counsellor or community leader, written on the official recommendation letter template (Word file)
- Copy of your current official transcript
- An original essay of 800 to 1,000 words, or a PowerPoint of 10 to 12 pages with detailed lecture notes
Your essay or presentation must be totally original and grammatically correct. Choose one of these three topics:
- Oligonucleotide-Based Therapeutics. Briefly introduce them (definition and mechanism), give examples of practical use, and discuss the challenges they face.
- Overview of Vaccine Development. Cover the classification, sources and characteristics of vaccines, the challenges vaccine therapy faces, and your opinion on its prospects.
- Overview of Drug Delivery Systems. Introduce the systems (principle, history, mechanism of action), give a comparative analysis of them, and share your opinion on their prospects.
You are welcome to add better ideas than the three points listed for your topic.

By applying, you allow BOC Sciences to publish your submitted works and video on its website and social media. You also agree to receive information from the company.
