KAUST Fellowship 2025/2026 Details

The KAUST Fellowship is awarded to every admitted graduate student and covers the entire cost of study. Students can choose between:

1. Master of Science (M.S.)

  • Duration: 3 semesters + 1 summer session
  • Credit Requirements: 36 credits (core courses, electives, and research/capstone project)
  • Fields of Study: Engineering, Mathematics, Physical Sciences, Chemical Sciences, Biological Sciences

2. Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.)

  • Duration:
    • 3.5 years for students with a Bachelor’s degree
    • 2.5 years for students with a Master’s degree
  • Requirements:
    • Ph.D. coursework
    • Qualifying exam
    • Oral defense of dissertation proposal
    • Final dissertation defense

Eligibility Requirements for the 2025/ 2026 KAUST Fellowship

To apply for the KAUST Fellowship, you must:

  1. Academic Qualification
    • For M.S.: A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (engineering, mathematics, physical, chemical, or biological sciences)
    • For Ph.D.: A master’s or bachelor’s degree in a related field
  2. English Proficiency
    • Minimum TOEFL iBT: 79 or IELTS: 6.5
    • Exemption: If your degree is from the USA, Canada, UK, Ireland, Australia, or New Zealand
  3. GRE (Optional)
