Qatar Airways University Scholarship Programme 2026 Eligibility Requirements
To qualify, applicants must check all these boxes:
- Be a Qatari national or have a Qatari mother.
- Be of good conduct and medically fit.
- Age above 17 and below 24 at the time of application.
- Graduated from high school within the last 3 years.
- If applying as a child of a Qatari mother, your entire education must’ve been in Qatar.
- High school grades:
- Qatari nationals: ≥ 85% overall.
- Children of Qatari mothers: ≥ 90%.
Certificates from outside Qatar must have an equivalency statement from Qatar’s Ministry of Education.
- Recent IELTS score (taken in the past 24 months):
- Nationals: 5.5 overall, no component below 5.0.
- Qatari-mother students: 6.0 overall, no less than 5.0 in each part.
- Your chosen major must be on Qatar Airways’ accepted list, and your university must be accredited by Qatar’s Ministry of Education (either in approved countries or in Qatar).
- If studying abroad, you need a Pre-approval Letter from the Ministry of Education of Qatar.
- You must have an unconditional offer letter from your university, including details like major, courses, fees, dates, etc.
- Males must submit proof of Qatar National Service completion, deferment, or exemption.
- You must not be sponsored by any other entity or currently employed.
- You must not be a former Qatar Airways employee or a previously disqualified scholarship recipient.
- You need a Qatari guarantor who agrees to repay Qatar Airways if you fail the scholarship or withdraw.
- Any additional documents requested by Qatar Airways must be provided.

- For males: National Service certificate.
- “To Whom It May Concern” letters stating you’re not under another scholarship (from the Ministry of Education) and not employed (from the Ministry of Labour).

- Gather all required documents (see list above).
- Write and submit a “Letter of Interest” to the Ministry of Education.
- Visit the Ministry of Education website and follow their step-by-step scholarship guide.
