University of Westminster Postgraduate Sanctuary Scholarship 2026 in UK Details
The University of Westminster offers two Postgraduate Sanctuary Scholarships each year to support students who are seeking asylum in the United Kingdom. The scholarship is available for full-time Master’s programmes beginning in September 2026. It covers the full cost of tuition fees and also provides a maintenance grant of £1,000 per month for up to 12 months.

Applicants must already hold an offer for an eligible full-time Master’s course at the University of Westminster before applying. Only two scholarships are available for the 2026/2027 academic year.
Students who already have a Master’s degree or who are eligible to receive postgraduate student loans from Student Finance are not eligible for this scholarship.
The scholarship is not available for the following programmes:
- Postgraduate Diploma courses
- Professional courses such as RIBA Part III, ACCA, CIMA and CiLEX
- Conversion courses such as the Graduate Diploma in Law
- Integrated Master’s, MPhil or PhD programmes
- Part-time programmes
Please note that if a student later receives an immigration status from the Home Office that allows access to Student Finance, any remaining monthly maintenance payments from the scholarship will stop.

- Have an offer from the University of Westminster for a full-time Master’s course starting in September 2026
- Be living in the United Kingdom
- Hold one of the following immigration statuses before submitting the application:
- UK asylum seeker
- UK discretionary leave to remain as a result of an asylum application
- UK limited leave to remain as a result of an asylum application
- Not already hold a Master’s degree
- Not be eligible to receive taught postgraduate student loans from Student Finance
- Be applying for an eligible full-time Master’s course
