2025 University of Alberta Graduate Entrance Scholarship Details
The Graduate Entrance Scholarship at the University of Alberta is designed to support high-achieving students starting their graduate studies. This award offers significant financial assistance to help cover tuition and living costs, allowing recipients to focus on their studies. It is available to newly admitted students enrolled in full-time graduate programs and is awarded based on the strength of the applicant’s academic achievements and admission application.
The scholarship provides a stipend of $17,500 for Master’s students and $21,000 for Doctoral students. In addition to the stipend, domestic students receive an additional $7,100, while international students are //awarded $10,000 to help offset tuition and fees. The funds will be directly applied to the student’s tuition and fees account. To receive the scholarship, students must have a Canadian bank account and a Canadian address.
Eligibility Requirements for the 2025 University of Alberta Graduate Entrance Scholarship
To be eligible for the Graduate Entrance Scholarship at the University of Alberta, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Be a newly admitted student in a master’s or doctoral program for the specified terms.
- Open to both domestic and international students.
- Open to students enrolled in either course-based or thesis-based programs.
- Have an Admission GPA of 3.7 or higher.
- Must be registered as a full-time student throughout the duration of the award.
- The award is valid from September 1, 2025, to August 31, 2026, regardless of the student’s admission term.
- Students are not allowed to transfer or switch between thesis-based and course-based programs.
- The Graduate Entrance Scholarship is non-renewable.
