Eligibility Requirements for Mastercard Foundation Scholarship at KNUST 2025

To be eligible for the Mastercard Foundation Scholarship at KNUST 2025, applicants must:

• All Applicants and prospective candidates must have in their possession, a genuine and valid WASSCE or GBCE or ABCE or GCE O Level and A Level or their equivalent results from an accredited/recognized institution. Applicant’s results must not be more than five years old. NO AWAITING RESULTS candidate will be processed for the scholarship.
• The candidates must further meet KNUST’s Admission Requirements
• The Applicant must demonstrate that he/she has Critical Economic Needs.
• The Applicant must have Proven Records of Leadership and Community Engagement.
• Priority shall be given to;

  • Displaced Persons (Certified Refugees, Internally Displaced Persons, and the like)
  • Persons living with Disability
• The Applicant must be prepared to Go-Back and Give-Back to his or her Community.

Required Documents to Apply for the Scholarship

Applicants must prepare and submit the following documents:

• Completed application form
• The printout of your application for admission at KNUST (if available).
• A copy of your WASSCE/Senior High School certificate/result slip (such as WASSCE or GBCE or ABCE or GCE O’Level and A’Level or their equivalent Results). Applicant must have credits (A1 -C6) in the following core subjects: (English Language, Mathematics, and integrated Science) and 3 elective subjects in the relevant area of study.
• Provide 3 recommendation letters signed and sealed independently by 3 persons of high repute. The recommendation can be Academic (from your head of school or a teacher), Religious (pastor, priest or Imam), community (chief or community leader) and any other relevant classification (mentors).
• Provide evidence of the estimated income of parents/guardians. E.g, copies of payslips, bank statements (if applicable) or estimated monthly income.
• Copy of your birth certificate.
• Attach any other documents that you believe will support your application.
• Attach the bio data page of your valid passport if you have one. Alternatively, you can submit any of your national ID for the application if you do not have a passport.

International applicants are expected to have passports ready for onward travel to Ghana should their application be successful.

Selection Process

• Only shortlisted candidates will be notified and called for interview, which will be held at the MCFSP at KNUST Secretariat
