About the CCC University Scholarships

Proposals must align with one or more of CCCU’s REF themes: International Law and Criminal Justice; Vulnerability; or Policing and Criminal Justice in the 21st Century. Areas of particular interest include global justice and international law, technology and AI in policing, vulnerability and access to justice, policing reform, and crime and social justice. 3. Theology and Religious Studies PhD Scholarship

Invites applications on the broad theme of Sustaining Sacred Space. Possible proposals include Theology of Heritage, Religion in the Public Square, Religion and the Environment, Theology of Sacred Landscape, the history of sacred spaces, and landscape and spirituality. CCCU can offer supervision in Anglican Theology, Jewish Studies, Art and Theology, Practical and Applied Theology, Contemporary Spirituality, and Ecotheology. Eligibility Requirements

Requirements that apply to all three scholarships:

• You must hold both an undergraduate degree and a postgraduate degree (MA or equivalent) in a subject relevant to your chosen scholarship strand
• If English is not your first language, you must demonstrate sound, verifiable proficiency in written and spoken English — without the use of AI assistance during the application process
• You must apply for both a place on the PhD programme AND the scholarship before the relevant deadline — a PhD application alone does not constitute a scholarship application
• You must be available to begin full-time studies in September or October 2026

Required Documents

Prepare all of the following before you submit your application:

• Completed research proposal form — specific to the scholarship strand you are applying for. This is the most important document in your application.
